This lecture by Adeliia Davletova (PhD Candidate, LMU Munich) examines the spiritual and social forms of vigilance developed by Bektaşi Sufis in response to the prohibitions of 1826 and 1925. By comparing these two historical moments, the presentation explores how Bektaşi communities adapted to changing forms of state control, surveillance, and religious regulation.
