This Special Issue aims to make a significant scholarly intervention in the field of Alevi Studies by bringing together historically grounded and theoretically informed interdisciplinary perspectives on Alevism across time and space. It invites contributions that address the historical formation of Alevism, its religious, cultural, and political dimensions, as well as its transformations in modern and diasporic contexts. The Special Issue seeks to advance comparative and critical debates by situating Alevism within broader discussions on religion, modernity, and social change.
Further details on the aims and scope of the Special Issue are available here. The submission deadline is 15 January 2027.
